PG&E peak and off-peak hours for EV charging
PG&E does not have one universal peak period: the hours depend on your rate plan. EV2-A uses 4–9 p.m. peak pricing and midnight–3 p.m. off-peak; E-TOU-C peaks 4–9 p.m.; E-TOU-D peaks 5–8 p.m. weekdays.
PG&E EV2-A: off-peak is 12 a.m.–3 p.m.; peak is 4–9 p.m.; partial-peak is 3–4 p.m. and 9 p.m.–12 a.m. E-TOU-C: peak is 4–9 p.m. every day. E-TOU-D: peak is 5–8 p.m. weekdays; weekends and most holidays are off-peak.

Why EV2-A can change the best charging time
If your Tesla is plugged in during the evening, starting immediately can overlap the 4–9 p.m. peak period. If enough off-peak time exists after midnight, a ready-by calculation can delay the session and still finish before your departure target.
